Meet the Musicians

Katherine Ching-Fang Teng
Ching-Fang Teng
Composer / Arranger / Pianist
Ching-Fang Teng is a Taiwanese composer, arranger, and pianist currently based in the Netherlands. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Composition from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, where she studied with Yannis Kyriakides and Peter Adriaansz, and is now pursuing her Master’s degree at the same institution.
With a background rooted in classical and jazz, Ching-Fang’s creative voice spans a wide spectrum—from theatrical sound performances to electroacoustic works, often integrating visual elements to create immersive dialogues between music and space.
Her talent has been recognized with First Prize at the De Ereprijs Young Composers Meeting (2023), and she was a finalist for the Tera de Marez Oyens Award (2024). Her works have been featured at festivals such as Traumberg Festival and Andriessen Festival, and in 2023, she composed the theme music for the Taichung Jazz Festival.
Ching-Fang is currently collaborating with Wabi Sabi Theatre and HIIIT, contributing to the 2025 CONTRA Theatre Project, further expanding her interdisciplinary artistic practice.

Te-Ping Teng
Percussionist
Taiwanese percussionist Te-Ping Teng is currently based in the Netherlands, where he is pursuing his Master’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, studying with Pepe Garcia, Theun van Nieuwburg, Hans Zonderop, and Niels Meliefste. He previously completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague and furthered his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold in Germany.
Te-Ping’s musical voice spans a wide range of repertoire, from Bach to Xenakis, with a special passion for contemporary chamber music. He actively collaborates with composers and interdisciplinary artists, constantly exploring the intersection between sound and performance art.
He has performed at renowned festivals and projects such as Amsterdam Marimba Weekend (2024), Asko|Schönberg’s Kurtág Festival (2023), and Klaterklanken Festival (2022). In 2023, he also premiered Ryoji Ikeda’s 100 Cymbals at Rewire Festival in collaboration with Les Percussions de Strasbourg.
As a member of SeT Duo, Te-Ping and his duo partner were awarded First Prize at the 2023 Kamermuziek Concours Gelre, further establishing their presence in the Dutch chamber music scene.

Hao-Teng Liu
Saxophonist
Hao-Teng Liu is a Taiwanese saxophonist who began his saxophone studies at the age of 14. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at Tunghai University in Taiwan, actively participating in performances and competitions throughout his studies. Seeking to broaden his artistic horizons, Hao-Teng pursued further studies at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, where he studied with renowned saxophonist Raaf Hekkema.
During his time in The Hague, Hao-Teng focused intensively on contemporary music, electronic sound manipulation, and experimental performance techniques, continuously exploring the creative potential of the saxophone. His artistic work merges extended techniques, live electronics, and visual elements, often collaborating with composers and musicians to push the expressive boundaries of the instrument.
His Master’s thesis delved into the intersection of sound, electronics, and visual art, with the goal of presenting contemporary music in ways that are more tangible and engaging for audiences. Through innovative performance approaches, Hao-Teng strives to transform abstract sound into powerful artistic storytelling.

Chang-Han Huang
Saxophonist
Chang-Han Huang holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Taipei National University of the Arts and a Master’s degree from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, where he studied with Chia-Hsiu Tsai and Lars Niederstrasser.
During his studies in the Netherlands, Chang-Han actively engaged in chamber music and contemporary music projects, collaborating with ensembles and composers across disciplines. He has performed works by Korean composer Seung-Won Oh and, in September 2024, he will appear with Ensemble Oeknal at the prestigious Gaudeamus Festival in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
While pursuing his Bachelor’s degree, Chang-Han won First Prize in the Chamber Music Category at the university’s Guandu New Voice Competition, and consistently participated in interdisciplinary performances, expanding his artistic horizons.
Chang-Han is a member of several ensembles, including Mit Saxophone Quartet, Art Pondo Saxophone Ensemble, and the online music platform project Weekly Sax. In addition to his performing career, he is also dedicated to music education, currently teaching at Tamkang Senior High School’s Music Department in Taiwan.
